Our list features wines from the length and breadth of Italy, illustrating
the great diversity of grape varieties, winemaking styles and cultural
influences present in the country.
Where possible our wines are from benchmark producers ranging from small
'artisan' winemakers, such as Panizzi in San Gimignano, (the only producer
in the zone to win a coveted Tre Bicchiere award), to the noble and famous
house of Fontanafredda.
Italian wines are always made with an affinity with food in mind, and our
selection is true to that ideal. We offer rustic, hearty wines from the
south to compliment dishes inspired by the Mezzogiorno and elegant, refined
examples as a match for dishes made with a lighter touch.
In comparison with the wines of the New World, those of Italy require a
little more effort to understand, with all those strange varieties, and
names that have jumped from a history book, but the destination is worth
the journey.
