His father opened the first live R&B club in Leeds , and the legendary Salvo's. Gip not only still owns Salvo's, with his brother Jon, but has part-owned a string of clubs in Leeds, promoting for The Underground and The Wardrobe, currently runs his own record label and is also responsible for bringing many soul and jazz legends to Leeds.
