If you missed Salvo's last Gastronomia Evening, don't fret, you have another chance to sample the very best of Italian regional wine and food this June. This time, the Salvo's gang will be showcasing the very best of Sardinian food and wine from their Salumeria, three doors down from Salvo's restaurant.
You'll get the chance to taste a selection of wines from the renowned Catina Santadi, plus a very special selection of wines from Barrua Agricola Punica. These names may mean little to you now but if you do go along rest assured that each wine will be accompanied by commentary from Simon Chant, one of the UK's leading Italian wine experts. A selection of food specialities indigenous to Sardinia, prepared by Salvo's chefs will also accompany each wine, along with a little background on the region's gastronomy.
Having enjoyed the last Gastronomia Evening, we can say first hand that these evenings really are a treat - and an absolute must for all you foodies out there. First class wines combined with saliva-inducing morsels of authentic Italian fare are an absolute delight and make for a most interesting and satisfying night out. The commentary really does add to your understanding of both the wines and the food you're trying, which means you can impress your mates with your gastronomical knowledge. All wines can be purchased on the night too. Tickets include five generous glasses of wine (so you should definitely leave the car at home) with typical regional dishes to partner each wine.
