Former Emmerdale star Leah Bracknell tucked into an Italian feast as she helped one of her favourite haunts to celebrate a new look.
Salvo’s restaurant marked its 30th birthday this year and to commemorate the occasion the eaterie on Otley Road in Headingley, Leeds has had a £100,000 facelift.
It includes photos from the Dammone family archive, some which have been specially sent from relatives in Sicily and date from the 1950’s.
Leah, who played vet Zoe Tate in the Yorkshire TV soap, dropped in to perform the official reopening ceremony.
She said: “I just love the new décor and the old pictures of Salvo and the family in Sicily are just fascinating”
Salvo’s was first opened in the middle of a heatwave in 1976 by Salvo Dammone. The restaurant is now run by his sons John and Gip.
A new menu has also been launched to mark the 30th anniversary
