FORKFULS OF HELP FOR HOSPICE
Yorkshire Evening Post 8th November 2008

Mamma Mia! An Italian restaurant has cooked up 2,000 lasagne dishes to raise funds for a Leeds hospice. A total of 50p from the price of each lasagne sold at Salvo’s goes to Sue Ryder Care Wheatfields Hospice in Headingley – meaning £1,000 has been raised since owner John Dammone introduced the dish in March.

The total adds to £500 already raised from sales of a ‘Pasta Casalingha’. John who runs the Headingley restaurant with his brother Gip said:” We wanted to support our local hospice. The lasagnes have proved an excellent way to do this.” In the past, the restaurant has staged art exhibitions to raise money for Wheatfields.
