The sister cafe of an Italian restaurant which appeared on Gordon Ramsay’s F Word is to undergo a refurbishment.

Salvo’s in Headingley, named the Best Local Italian Restaurant by the TV chef, will launch a new salumeria in September.

The project, designed by WDL Interior Architects, will include an extended kitchen, new toilet facilities and revamped decor.

Mike Watson, of WDL Interior Architects, started working with original owner Salvatore Dammone in 1982 and has continued working with his sons, John and Gip Dammone, since they took over the restaurant.

John said “Having worked with Mike at WDL, for a number of years on the majority of Salvo’s interior architectural work, the decision to expand Salvo’s Salumeria meant picking up the phone and calling Mike”.

“As always his design, plans and proposed work were exactly what myself and my brother Gip were looking for”.

Mike added “I always look forward to receiving a call from John or Gip at Salvo’s; they usually have a few interesting ideas. “After working with them for the past 28 years, I think we’ve developed an understanding of what they need”.
